Counter Terrorism Policing Eastern

The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) is responsible for managing the threat of terrorism across eastern England.

Created in 2010 with a counter terrorism capability formally adopted in 2017, ERSOU operates across the police forces that make up the Eastern Region – Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.

ERSOU’s counter terrorism policing unit comprises investigations and intelligence teams, along with colleagues specialising in prevention, training and several other disciplines.

The unit has a presence across the region, including at some of the UK’s busiest ports such as London Stansted Airport and London Luton Airport.
