The South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team is responsible for gathering and developing intelligence from HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and other associated establishments relating to national security issues and organised crime.

The prison hub is supported by a number of Prison Intelligence Officers (PIO’s) who are expected to work within the regional establishments.  Working alongside HMPPS, they identify and exploit intelligence opportunities with a view of mitigating risk and disrupting offenders.

We now have an officer position available on a secondment basis to join the team until February 2026. The successful candidate will be the point of contact between law enforcement and the prison service, providing support, advice and expertise. You will support the management of prisoners who present a risk to our national security, commit or facilitate organised crime. You will also effectively gather and develop intelligence from HMPPS and other associated establishments relating to national security issues and organised crime as well as sharing relevant intelligence with law enforcement and partner agencies.
