Leeds Man Charged with Possessing and Disseminating Terrorist Material

A 21 year old man from Leeds has been charged with eight offences following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East. 

Cameron Gloria De Almeida (09/09/2003) of Garnet Place, Beeston is charged with: 

  • Six offences of disseminating terrorist publications, contrary to section 2(1) and section 2(2)(e) of the Terrorism Act 2006 
  • One offence of possessing a document containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 Terrorism Act 2000. 
  • One offence of conspiracy to commit robbery, contrary to section 1 Criminal Law Act 1977 

De Almeida was arrested on March 1, 2025, as part of an intelligence led operation in which a residential property in Leeds was also searched.  

A seven-day warrant of further detention was granted by the courts on March 3, 2025. He was charged on the evening of March 7.

De Almeida appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday March 8. He was remanded in custody and will next appear on March 14, 2025.
