Information about the Role
The role holders will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and guidance on both Business cases and Assurance across the P3O environment ensuring alignment to the Assurance Strategy. The AST Lead will be responsible for providing independent assurance of Projects, Programmes and the wider Portfolio, and will report directly to the Head of Assurance and Standards. This includes ensuring that Projects and Programmes are viable at initiation and continue to remain viable throughout the lifecycle from a leadership, quality, financial, information management, risk, governance, benefits, and resource management perspective; and they adhere to the standards set across the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) portfolio of projects and programmes and wider UK Government.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation and adherence of an appropriate risk based, integrated and consequential Assurance Strategy;
- Responsible for the continuous improvement and driving innovation of CTP’s Assurance capability, assuring against set standards and best practice;
- Assure Portfolio, Programme and Project delivery across CTP’s Change Portfolio, this includes projects and programmes that can exceed £100m plus in its whole life cost;
- Responsible for supporting strategic relationships with the Cabinet Office’s Infrastructure and Project Authority and at times represent the Assurance and Standards Function as the Deputy Departmental Assurance Coordinator (DAC) at the Governments National DAC Forum;
- Ensure methodologies are correctly delivered and provide information, training and development across CTP, aligning to Assurance and Standards main responsibilities;
- Work in close collaboration with the CTP Portfolio Office, Business Design and the PPM Profession in driving and continuously developing the collective Centre of Excellence function on behalf of the Deputy Director – with explicit responsibility for the Assurance, Information Management, SRO development and Lessons Learned components;
