Information about the Role

As the ISO Quality and Compliance head, You will be reporting into the Head of Counter Terrorism Police WM, on the overall service level agreement alongside the performance of the QMS (e.g. results of quality audits, corrective actions) and the need for improvement, this role will enhance the stakeholder engagement and interdependent business links between Forensics, Investigation and Intelligence and implement new ways of working (technological innovation) that will ensure the continuous improvement in the contribution of forensic outcomes to detections and convictions.

You will be the strategic lead for ISO Compliance and responsible for ensuring that CT Forensic Services operates with excellence by ensuring our legal obligations are met and provide assurance that we are compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures; such as, General Data Protection Regulations, Protection of Freedoms Act and Disclosure and manage and test our Business Continuity plans.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic development, implementation, and continued service improvement of the Quality Management System, ensuring the system meets the needs of UKAS, the Forensic Science Regulator, GDPR and other statutory obligations.
  • Identify deviations from the management system and initiate action to prevent or minimise such deviations.
  •  Point of contact for UKAS transactions and inspections.
  • Oversight of staff training, competency and proficiency activities.
  • Ensure that the Quality Management System reflects current work practices, both locally, nationally and in accordance to statutory requirements.
  • Internal audit programme is effective and complied with and audits and process reviews are performed to technical and legislative requirements including annual scheduling, arranging staff auditor training.
