Information about the Role

The Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) devises policy and strategy, coordinates national projects and programmes, in support of the UKs eleven regional counter terrorism units (CTUs) and intelligence units (CTIUs). CTPHQ supports these officers and staff working in a range of specialist fields such as investigations, digital exploitation, forensics, covert policing and financial inquiries.

CTPHQ are looking for a committed and highly motivated member of the team to help support and shape CTP functions and capabilities across the national network, into the future and help deliver against a wide range of threats from terrorism to National security. You will be responsible for supporting the team in developing and maintaining both operational and strategic policies and practices.

You’ll have the highest standards of integrity, discretion and sensitivity when handling sensitive information, with a flexible attitude, being enthusiastic and the ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision in a high-pressure environment. This role is based out of CTOC, London, therefore you will be required to attend the office 5 days a week due to the nature of the role.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be required to do the following:
  • Maintaining & co-ordinating a computerised diary for the team
  • Organising and recording meetings, checking facilities and receiving visitors.
  • Creating and maintaining a system of document retrieval for the team with relevant permissions.
  • File correspondence both electronically and manually, including the handling of highly classified and personal papers, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with government classification scheme (GSC) guidelines (e.g. locking away sensitive material and shredding documents where appropriate).
  • Support the work of board support; including minute-taking for Senior Management meetings and any ad hoc informal meetings, as and when required.
  • Monitoring and responding to all communications (mail, e-mail, & telephone).
  • To support the work of the CTPHQ Team by disseminating information and communications to staff and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation requirements for the team, such as booking of cars, trains and hotels.
  • To undertake administrative support tasks in line with the Band D framework as directed by the line manager as required.
  • Co-Ordinate Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s Office (IPCO) referrals
  • Own governance boards
  • Provide support to hub SLT

  • Strong IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office products especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointand MS Teams.
  • Ability to work flexibly and re-prioritise workload effectively and with minimum supervision.
