Information about the role
As a Prevent Support/Case Officer, you’ll reassure vulnerable groups, potentially impacting the underlying causes of terrorism and diminishing support for terrorists.
You’ll drive and deliver the Prevent agenda across the wider policing family, facilitating engagement with policing teams, partner organisations and communities.
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with Prevent partners in local authorities, schools, higher and further educational institutions, faith institutions and organisations, the health sector, the prison and probation service.
- Gathering and disseminating information including community tensions relating to CT issues, developing plans and identifying joint actions to address any issues.
- Acting in support of frontline staff and as a community contact on consequence management issues.
- Working with police and community partners to develop and deliver proactive communications in advance of terrorism-related operations.
- Providing tactical advice to CT Senior Investigating Officer’s on Prevent options and capability.
- Engaging and signposting individuals vulnerable to radicalisation into appropriate support mechanisms, such as Channel.
- Identifying community intervention providers who can provide advice and support to individuals vulnerable to radicalisation.
- Conducting individual Risk Assessments to determine Susceptibility to Radicalisation in line with National processes
- Working with Corporate Communications, the SIO, stakeholders and partners to deliver key messages of Consequence Management plans.
