Information about the role
The role supports the efficient and professional running of the CBRN Operations team at the National CBRN Centre. Within the role you will offer tactical advice and technical support to UK wide policing operations as well as servicing multi agency partners across all blue light services, military and government departments within the CBRN community.
Responsibilities
- Part of a team to bring together, develop and maintain the UK’s multi-agency capability to respond to CBRN terrorism.
- Be an integral part of the CBRN Operations team providing timely support to CBRN related enquiries through the provision of technical and tactical advice.
- Support the CBRN Operations team to develop and maintain a high level of subject knowledge and skills in support of the on-call cadre of Duty Officers and Duty Managers.
- Provide access to specialist scientific advice through established partners and be able to explain that advice to responding resources.
- Deploy operationally with the radiological and nuclear inland detection capability, supporting CBRN Operations activity within the Protect and Pursue elements of the National Contest Strategy across the UK.
- Complete concise and accurate records of operational CBRN incidents to enable research and evaluation to identify trends, intelligence opportunities or areas for improvement where appropriate.
- Provide advice, direction, and peer review to support partners during the planning and execution stages of planned events.
- Produce documents, review operational guidance and provide presentations for a wide variety of audiences on the role of the National CBRN Centre, CBRN Operations. and support international partners through workshops, training events or field exercises.
- Recognise and highlight opportunities to improve the performance, reputation and profile of the National CBRN Centre.
- Become part of the on-call cadre of Duty Officers providing 24/7 support to emergency services responding to CBRN related incidents.
